Why are women’s shirts considered blouses and priced differently from men's?
Why are women’s shirts considered blouses and priced differently from men's?
Updated over a week ago

Women's and men's shirts differ in the manufacturing process, which means the cleaning process also differs.

Men's shirts undergo a rigorous cleaning process to remove grease/body oils and are pressed flat using a shirt buck with large metal plates, while women's shirts have different fabric cuts, may require hand finishing, and most of the care labels recommend a cold water wash due to the textiles and factory finishes.

This means that women's shirts need a more delicate cleaning process and different machinery to sustain the quality of the garment.
