Laundryheap services are both exceptionally safe and remarkably effective methods for laundering clothes. However, there are some potential risk factors to should be aware of:
Dry cleaning - invisible stains
Invisible stains in dry cleaning refer to stains or residues on garments that are not immediately visible but can become apparent or reappear after the dry cleaning process.
Invisible stains can be from items such as perfume, lotions, clear liquids or oils.
If you are aware of any potential invisible stains, it's best to let our team know, and they will do their best to treat that area. You can notify Laundryheap by adding it in the special requests area when booking.
Dry cleaning - colour damage risks
Colour damage is low risk when dry cleaning. The main factor that affects the risk of potential colour damage is the fabric dye used by the manufacturer. The best dyes used for fabrics are called colourfast dyes, which means the dye will not change, bleed or lose colour when being treated.
Fading: Dry cleaning may cause some fabrics to fade over time. Brightly coloured fabrics, such as reds, blues, and greens, are more susceptible to this.
Colour bleeding: Fabrics with multiple colours may experience colour bleeding during dry cleaning.
💡 The manufacturer will know how best to clean your item, so it's important to remember to check the care label. Here is a downloadable guide to help you understand the care label symbols: Laundryheap Care Label Guide.
Tumble drying shrinkage:
It's important to keep in mind that it is still possible for garments to shrink in a low-temperature tumble dry.
If you request this dry service, our partner facilities will carefully follow your instructions. However, if your items shrink, this will be considered as normal wear and tear, and Laundrheap will not be liable for this.
