What is the washing service?
Updated over a week ago

Washing, sometimes referred to as laundering, is a process carried out by our partner facilities to clean your items using water, detergent and fabric softener.

Laundryheap offers the option of selecting a mixed or separate wash. Here are the steps followed for each service:

Mixed wash

  1. Cleaning - All of your items will be cleaned together in one washing machine using water, detergent and fabric softener at 30°C. You also have the option to select a higher temperature of 45°C when booking your order.

  2. Drying - After cleaning, your clothes will be tumble dried at a medium temperature.

  3. Packing - Your items will be neatly packed in a clear plastic bag and placed in a Laundryheap bag to be delivered back to you.

Separate wash

  1. Cleaning - Your items will be separated into dark/light colours and cleaned in separate washing machines using water, detergent and fabric softener at 30°C.

If you would like a delicate washing temperature of 20°C or a higher/lower tumble drying temperature, please add this as a special request in your order and speak to our customer service team to confirm this can be accommodated.

💡 Folding is not available with this service. If you would like your items to be folded, Laundryheap recommends opting for the wash & iron service.

💡 Items provided for all washing services are not individually inspected prior to cleaning. It is important to check the care labels to determine if your items are suitable for these services. Download our symbol guide here: Laundryheap Care Label Guide.pdf.

Items are charged by weight for washing services. Mixed wash is charged per 6kg and separate wash is charged per 12kg. If the weight exceeds the given amounts, Laundryheap will charge this as a second load. For example, if you send in 8kg for a mixed wash service in the UK, you will be charged £33.90 for 2 loads.

Here is a general guideline for what 6kg of clothes looks like:
